8th Grade Bridge Program

 8th Grade Bridge Program 2019-2020

The Bridge Program is a dynamite lineup of grouped classes taught by extraordinary teachers at the Resource Center in Modesto on Mondays and Wednesdays each week! The Bridge Program is designed to ensure your student will be ready for the rigor of high school.

Monday Schedule

9:00 - 10:30 am Math 8* taught by Debbie Kutz

10:30 am-11:30 pm  Physical Science taught by Lisa Crawford (the Monday class is taught online only)

11:30 pm-12:00 pm   Lunch

12:00 pm-2:00 pm     History taught by Denise Schrock

 2:00pm-3:30 pm   Elective Class (Students go home at 2:00 on non Elective dates)

 *Elective courses ( photography, drama) are taught on 8 Monday afternoons, (dates are below) students leave at 2:00 on non elective afternoons.

Wednesday Schedule

9:00 - 10:30 am Math 8* taught by Debbie Kutz

10:30 am-11:30 pm Physical Science taught by Lisa Crawford / Anita Madoski lab assistant (Wednesday classes/labs dates are below)

10:30 am-11:30 pm STEM (Science,Technology, Engineering and Math) taught by Anita Madoski

(classes will be held on non-lab Wednesdays, dates are below)

11:30 pm-12:00 pm   Lunch

12:00 pm-2:00 pm  English taught by TBD

2:00pm-3:30 pm (optional) Drop in Math in main room (Students go home at 2:00 if not attending drop in math)

Elective Courses:

1st semester elective- Photography taught by Maureen Lemos

2nd semester elective- Drama taught by Julie Hilbert Spring dates TBA

 These classes will take place 8 Mondays during the semester.  Students leave at 2:00 on non elective afternoons.

First day of class:  The first day of class will be Monday, August 19  at the Resource Center. . Students should arrive at the Resource center at least by 8:45 so they are ready to start math class at 9:00.

Cost: $900.00 per semester will be deducted from the student account to pay for the cost of materials, supplies and instruction for the Bridge Program.

Parent/Student Orientation:  Wednesday August 21 at 8:30 am.

Field trips dates :

Fall -  Wednesday 10/16/19             Spring - (TBA)

State Testing: Bridge students will have CAASPP testing at the Resource center Dates TBA


The curriculum that will be used and provided for each student is listed below. If students do not already have a Chromebook to use as an aid for their classes, one will be provided, which needs to be returned when the student drops/exits the class at the end of the year.
